Holland Park Circle
Once the home of artist Frederic Lord Leighton, Leighton House is itself a Victorian orientalist treasure. As well as being open to the public, Leighton House also offers a range of events – including this summer's series of walks and guided tours to explore the history behind the community of artists who lived and worked in and around Holland Park in the 1850s - The Holland Park Circle.
The artists that made up 'The Circle' included Val Prinsep, G.F. Watts, Luke Fildes, Marcus Stone and many of the grand studio houses that they lived in were in fact commissioned by Lord Leighton from leading Victorian architects. The tours will include the houses' fascinating histories and gardens. Although the tours are largely booked, Leighton House itself is well worth visiting.
Walks take place during August and September
