HOW TO MAKE A TIDE BERET

Selvedge

From Hilary Grant's book Knitting from the North, enjoy this Tide Beret. Inspired by winter in the northern Scottish Islands and using a traditional fairisle stitch you can wear this as a slouchy beanie with the cuff turned down or as a little beret. It is quite a neat style so if you want to make it bigger you can increase it – by one horizontal repeat. KFTN-46 Materials and tools you will need:
  • Jamieson’s Shetland Spindrift yarn:
  • One ball Natural White, main colour (MC)
  • One ball Heron, contrasting colour (CC)
  • 2.25mm circular needles
