Loop London Competition
Loop London is offering Selvedge readers a wonderful opportunity to win a complete set of Laine Saint-Pierre embroidery threads by Sajou's as part of the release of our latest issue, Issue 102 Mend. The illustrious Laine Saint-Pierre was originally from Lyon and has been part of Fil au Chinois for many decades. It is a darning wool made of four strands and often used for embroidery projects. It is made of a wool and polymide blend and is very solid, easy to use and colourfast.
Alongside the fabulous selection of knitting + crochet yarns and haberdashery, Loop stocks a beautiful and varied collection of threads ranging from naturally dyed threads from Japan, France, and Denmark to mercerized cotton thread from Spain, Swedish Linens, as well as Silks from France and Japan. All of these threads, including the Sajou St Pierre, work well for a variety of stitches, including visible mending, Sashiko, darning, and all forms of embroidery. Loop also stocks needles, scissors, books and tools for embroidery and visible mending.
Loop was opened in the Summer of 2005 by Susan Cropper, a New Yorker living in London. She wanted to create a warm and inspiring space providing yarn and threads alongs beautiful handmade textile objects and the work of textile designers and makers including Sophie Digard, Julie Arkell, and Nathalie Lete. Often sourcing products that are not available anywhere else, they are seen as pioneers in the London knitting and textile world for bringing textiles and makers together, showcasing rare supplies and handmade things as well as fostering a sense of community and inspiration in the fibre arts.
Through the years Loop has been listed as one of the best shops in London and has been featured in publications around the world, being recognised as celebrating and raising the profile of handmaking and textiles.
Loop can be found on Camden Passage in Islington, London, and has a online shop that ships all over the world, www.loopknitting.com/. They can also be found on Instagram at @LoopLondonLoves.
