The Makers at Menier Exhibition showcases the work from 2016 MA Graduates, current MA postgraduate and BA undergraduate students from UCA School of Craft and Design, Farnham.
The exhibition includes glass, ceramics, jewellery, textiles, furniture and product design. Shown below is some of the preparatory work from the MA Textile students.
Jiajing Zhang - The Middle Way
Jiajing’s work comes from drawing, working in a free style with abstract, rough and graphic pattern. The pieces combine felt and weave which adds layer and detail.
Naoya Doi - Human Garment
Naoya has deconstructed the human body and transformed it to create a totally different thing. The general perception of the object might look absolute but it is nothing more then one of the components, which the object had originally. Naoya says that once people accept a new definition of the object, it will be one of fact.
