Making Communities
From learning how to weave contemporary baskets through discovering new designers to hearing about the design history of denim, SIT Select Festival brings together a genuine wealth of designer-maker talent and knowledge in the Gloucester market town, Stroud.
Isolation is a well established problem for many creatives. Often working alone in a studio all day – and often night – it is generally acknowledged that one of the hardest aspects of becoming a full-time maker, is spending so much time alone. Similarly for those that love craft, design and all things textile related, it can take real dedication and enthusiasm to stay tuned, find a new art, artist or person to keep you inspired.
