Necklace for an Elephant and Other Stories
Working with a range of materials and disciplines David Poston has had an imaginative and wide ranging career.
Brought to Dovecot Gallery with support from The Dovecot Foundation and Creative Scotland, this exhibition explores David's interest and feel for materials as well as his design ideas and collaborations.
This is Poston’s second exchange with Dovecot, as in 2008 together with Dovecot Tapestry Studio’s Master Weaver Jonathan Cleaver, Poston developed a series of woven viscose, wire and stainless steel wire arm-wear pieces which were then exhibited at Dovecot in Sitting and Looking in 2010. One of these pieces is now in the collection of the National Museum of Scotland and other objects produced during this collaboration feature in the exhibition set within the wider context of Poston’s work and life.
