One Year In: Applications Open
Each summer, New Designers takes place in the Business Design Centre in London, gathering together graduates and creatives in their first year of business from across a wider breadth of design disciplines, including fashion, illustration and furniture design. The show celebrates emerging designers, offering them a platform to share their work and establishing an entryway into the working world of design. It also allows visitors to discover the work of up and coming designers, forecasting re-interpretations of trends and unique techniques combining traditional and contemporary crafts.
Talented designers launching new creative businesses are invited to apply for the 2019 edition of One Year In at New Designers, the UK’s leading exhibition for emerging creative talent. One Year In will be curated for the first time by Emily Skinner, the designer, maker and founder of Evan James Design and former One Year In exhibitor. One hundred of the year’s most exciting design talents will be selected to showcase their creative businesses and, in the lead-up to the show, be part of a mentorship programme devised to help them get their new businesses market-ready.
Alongside a panel of judges, Emily Skinner will select participants that demonstrate originality and creativity in their designs, as well as high-quality making and presentation. The deadline for applications is 31 January 2019.
New Designers provides a unique platform for fresh design talent to connect with design educators, professionals and consumers for creative exchange and collaboration. Running over two weeks from 26 to 29 June and 3 to 6 July 2019, New Designers is a place to discover new ideas, products and trends. The show connects talented design graduates with businesses looking to bring in new design thinking; buyers looking to source the most innovative craft and design, and aspiring students wanting to explore the range of design courses available. New Designers champions and celebrates the future of design.
