The Romney, or Kent, sheep is a 'longwool' breed which was recognised in England by 1800. These sheep have roamed their indigenous area of Romney Marsh since 13th century; their long dense fleece was highly prized and lead to widespread wool smuggling!
We hope
Romney Marsh Wools' stall won't cause too much controversy at our
Autumn Fair, but be sure to expect traditionally made cushions and blankets using Romney wool from their flock. And we can't wait to try their wool fat soap!
