Sitting the Light Fantastic
At the heart of the Geffrye Museum’s newly refurbished garden is Kei Ito’s ethereal parade of larger than life-size chairs and sculptural lamps that reflect her response to the Geffrye's collections. A fibre-optic textile has been devised specially for this installation, enabling it to glow at dusk. A stork is the leitmotif in her installation; it travels through a ‘parallel world’ to provide viewers with new ways of looking at the domestic. For more, see www.museumaker.com
