Society Limonta
This month sees the official opening of Society Limonta’s first standalone store in London. The Italian home couture brand arrived in Harrods in the UK in 2014 and features a typically unconventional, luxurious home collection that includes bed, bathroom and table linen and accessories.
‘We are thrilled to be opening in the heart of Brompton Cross, London’s original luxury village,’ says Society Limonta Marketing Director Davide Mazzarini. The company recently opened stores in Geneva and Vienna, taking the total number of outlets to 12: three in Italy and the remainder stretching from Palma de Mallorca to Stockholm, from Paris to Los Angeles.
A historical textile manufacturing company that dates back to 1893, Society Limonta is still one of the major reference points for textile innovation both for the home couture and fashion industries. Celebrated in the 19th century for its tapestry and jacquard fabrics, matelassé and velvets, it is now known for its experimental approach to traditional processes and materials, using contemporary weaving and dyeing skills to re-imagine fabrics.
The home collection will be displayed over two floors in its new store on London’s Walton Street, with a wide window at the front and a garden, designed by Martha Krempel, at the back. Architect Ferruccio Laviani, a frequent Society Limonta collaborator, has designed the store’s layout, maintaining the minimal style with neutral colours that allow the brand’s home couture collections to take centre stage.
