Summer Exhibition 2016
There's no other show quite like it, it's the largest, grandest and most glamourous open submission exhibition in the world.
From watercolours through architectural plans to sculptures by artists such as the Chapman brothers, one can easily spend an afternoon marvelling at the breadth and curiosities of artists and makers today.
Make sure to catch this year's Summer Exhibition, which is curated by the artist Richard Wilson.
Proceeds go towards funding the Royal Academy's (equally distinctive) graduate art schools.
