Supernaturae as a brand is focused on slow fashion with a passion to increase the awareness and importance of hand work. Started in 2019, they work with communities in Mexico and India, creating collectible, luxury, resort pieces.
Informed by ancestral knowledge of craft, Supernaturae works with old textile methods and produces almost entirely in rural villages where craft work is often the only local source of income. Everything is developed using locally available materials and traditional craft techniques with our artisans. The timeless silhouettes are designed as uniforms for the every day. Embroidery and decoration emerge out of ethnographic studies of tattoos, art, and traditional mark-making. Their garments are dyed using an assortment of 18 natural dyes from 4 plants. All pieces are limited edition.

The uncompromising attention to the origin and subsequent feel of the garment results in nothing less than the future of vintage.
As part of an initiative between Westminster Council and Appear Here promoting artisanal-focused brands, Supernaturae have been invited to activate the space at Piccadilly Avenue until 28 June, creating a pop-up showroom and event space hosting a variety of events centered around nature and design. Featured will be Mexican designers, including Huaraches, and artisan crafts from Chiapas and Oaxaca.
