The Architecture of Ballet


Lauren Day, winner of the Selvedge prize for Excellence in Textiles, combined her love of architecture with the elegant movement of ballet in her sophisticated collection shown at New Designers.  Her drawings capture the sweeping, graceful lines of ballet and how these look sharp and architectural when the movement is 'freeze framed'.  These drawings evolved into her clothing range which has an Art Deco feel and combines heavily embellished, hand embroidered interchangeable collars with light, fluid fabrics...
