A Root Through The Christmas Collection

Guest post by Ruby Wilson

The 25th continues to draw closer, so we take a look at some of the highlights of our Christmas Collection...

While many of our readers will be looking forward this season, we take the time to look back with our Christmas Archive Collection 1. This collection contains some of our most festive issues. Take the Migration Issue, number 67, for example. With stories exploring the Nurburg Christmas market and our intimate relationship with pyjamas, this issue is certain to ignite some festive feeling. Other issues include the Evergreen Issue in which the question of sustainability during the party season is posed. In addition we explore festive interiors in the North Issue, where Violesse Lunn’s Yuletide home provides ample inspiration for the Christmas time.

As always, we include our Selvedge Gift Subscription. We believe that this is a particularly special present to be given, as unlike many of the gifts we receive, the subscription is one of longevity and quality. A bi-monthly issue of Selvedge will be posted through the door of the lucky receiver, who gets to enjoy the world of textiles at their fingertips. As all our magazines contain new stories accompanied with beautiful visuals, the subscription really is the gift that keeps on giving.

Presents haven't always arrived through the letterbox of course. Once upon a time, children would hang out their ordinary socks for St. Nicholas to fill up with treats, yet the world has moved on and now we have Christmas stockings created exactly for this purpose. In our collection we also have a series of reverse appliqué Hungarian stockings in a red and white colour-ways that will hang beautifully above any fireplace.

To fill our lovely stockings we have Glückskäfer felt animals or Sarah Campbell dolls that are perfect for any child, and our Love Travel guides will provide inspiration for any keen jet setter. So, with another door opening on the advent calendar each day, be sure to make your orders before the Selvedge shop closes for Christmas too! See below for our final Christmas order times.
