The Uniform Studio
You can't walk down the high street or graze a fashion magazine without seeing some nod to utilitarian, Japanese-Scandi minimalist styling. This is hardly surprising, given the fresh, smart and flattering nature of clothes that highlight textures and cuts. And yet the mention of a genuine uniform – rather than a uniform-inspired piece – brings synthetic materials, bad colours and overly 'tailored' cuts to mind. A prime example perhaps of fashion and reality working on different wave lengths. Well, that's what we thought until we came across The Uniform Studio.
Having between them worked in tailoring, styling and theatre, Lois Hill and Christopher Meeten have had plenty of experience making clothes look good for lots of different people. Today they are the design studio behind the uniforms in venues such as Soho House Group, W Hotels, Anya Hindmarch and Kurt Geiger.
"Through our years of creating and producing uniforms for an array of industries we have finely tuned this experience into a collection of garments that will provide you with the practicality essential in work wear, combined with the aesthetic from which the integrity of your brand and person can be displayed. We hope you get as much pleasure and comfort from wearing your garments as we do in designing them for you." Inspired by years of creating and producing bespoke uniforms, the e-commerce shop features aprons, waistcoats, shirts & dresses in hard-wearing, beautiful fabrics.
Enter the Selvedge competition for your chance to win one of ten aprons worth £38 each, made with style and practicality in mind.
