Known as a traditional French fabric and furnishing house, Pierre Frey has been through surprisingly few different hands and yet has lived through a number of design eras. Tissus inspirés at Les Arts Decoratifs is the first major exhibition exploring the company's history.Pierre Frey first entered into the world of design aged 17 in 1903, when he became a cutter for Maison Burger. 34 years later he founded Maison Pierre Frey and the company's headquarters are still at the same Paris site. Furthermore, the design house has continued on in the same spirit it began with thanks to his three grandchildren and his son, Patrick Frey, in charge of the company since 1975.
