V V Rouleaux seems to have got to 26 years old in a blink. These are some of founder Annabel Lewis’s exquisite collection of vintage ribbons which inspired the colours for V V Rouleaux’s Colour Guide. Conventions mattered little in these designs as you can see – who says blue and brown should never be seen when you can marry a beautiful Cornflower blue with a Sable Twig and Mole Heap brown stripe and have little flowers in the centre?
Clashing in this collection is as important as matching and the new V V Rouleaux Colour Guide can lead you to be as brave as you like.
V V Rouleaux have created V V Inspire on the new website with ideas and images. Here a classic wedding dress has been given the English bloom with a cascade of hand painted silk flowers. The look is full of subtle shades from their Colour Guide – Vintage Blusher, Ripe Wheat, Pale Azalea and Stone.
As ever with V V Rouleaux they are not afraid to “trim up”. This 100mm wide Organdy ribbon in Deep Apricot ties as a fabulous bow, and gives a modern look a touch of the romantics.
More plucky ideas from V V Inspire. Don’t buy a new hat cover it with pheasant feather fringe, trim with cord and knots, and go 18th century with a Versailles Macaroon for a great embellishment. Just to prove V V Rouleaux can trim you from head to toe – a snappy set of waxed cords as laces, maybe not Pale Plum, Crocus Stamen, and Ruby Slippers for the boys but there are plenty of dark options such as Pitch Blue, Tilled Earth, and Slate on their new website.
