Woven Air
Last night we celebrated the launch of issue 64 at the beautiful William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow. We were delighted to be joined by hand woven textile artist, Rezia Wahid MBE, who demonstrated her weaving technique.
Rezia's work, made from a mixture of spun and gummed silk and ultra fine merino, is incredibly delicate and virtually weightless – its name, 'Woven Air', is apt. Drawing inspiration from spirituality and tranquility that she associates with Islamic art and architecture, Rezia emulates this in her weaving - creating translucent room installations, wall hangings and dividers which create a feeling of peace as the light passes through them.
Currently based in London, just next door to The William Morris Gallery, you can arrange an appointment to visit Rezia in her studio by contacting her on reziahalima@gmail.com.

We'd like to thank Rezia and all the readers and contributors who joined us to celebrate the launch of issue 64, 'Ageless'
