Vita Ivicic is a Slovenian designer and artist who graduated from Chelsea College of Art & Design. Currently she designs Womenswear collections and explores the production of traditional textiles. In keeping with this practice all of her products are handmade or produced locally in limited editions. In 2017 she won an award for the most innovative and experimental collection at Mittelmoda Fashion Competition in Milan, Italy. Based on and inspired by nature her work makes use of natural dyes and materials, often including floral elements, motifs, and patterns.
“I belong to nature. It's my home. A place where I can see signs that universe is sending to me. A place where I can feel perfect in my imperfect world. I am free.’

In this two-day workshop, open to all levels, Vita will share her design vision and way of creating using handmade techniques and traditions from Slovenia. She will teach you the basics of natural dyeing; from harvesting, collecting and storing plants to the preparation of materials and the dyeing process itself. A material pack will be sent to you prior to the workshop, containing at least three different natural pigments, foraged by Vita, to dye with during the workshop.

You will learn how to make botanical prints with fresh flowers, one of her signature design techniques, and she will share little secrets she has discovered in the years she has been practising this technique. With your own naturally dyed and printed fabric, you will make your own printed bag for foraging.
