Molly Mahon is a Textile Designer based in Sussex specialising in the art of block printing. This February, Molly will launch The Greencombe Collection which features cottons and linens designed by Molly in East Sussex and hand block printed in Rajasthan.

Being outside has always been a place of great happiness for Molly. It is where she feels most at peace, and perhaps the most inspired. Whether it is in her garden, the hills of Scotland, the incredible flower fields of India, or the wild hedgerows of the British countryside, it is the joy of colours and the beauty of nature’s offerings that inspire her most. She is delighted to be bringing this inspiration to her new collection Greencombe.

The designs, culminating in nostalgic depictions of strawberries and tulips, reworkings of majestic Mughal flower illustrations, little seeds denoting hope and new beginnings, and playful visions of stripes left in the wake of a plough, illustrate nature’s most inspiring details. Molly’s designs bring to life the wonder of primroses, wild carrots, and dianthus flowers. She highlights the beauty of nature and the mighty great outdoors by recognising that it is a wonder to behold and to protect.

She has chosen a palette that incorporates some of the joyful bold colours she so adores working with, along with some of the more earthy tones found in the Indian desert and English countryside. This allows a range of options for those looking for something sophisticated with a touch of joyful charm.

Molly’s initial drawings were transported from her studio in East Sussex to the heart of block printing, Rajasthan, last year. They are now being meticulously hand block printed by highly skilled craftsmen on a range of cotton and linen cloths.
