Katie Taylor - Textile Designer Molly Mahon
Textile Designer Molly Mahon is launching The Greencombe Collection in February. A new collection of hand block printed cottons and linens designed in Sussex and hand blocked in Rajasthan.
Being outside has always been a place of great happiness for Molly. It is where she feels most at peace and perhaps the most inspired. Whether this is in her garden, the hills of Scotland, the incredible flower fields of India or the wild hedgerows of the British countryside it’s the joy of the colours and the beauty of nature’s offerings that most inspire her and she is delighted to celebrate in her new collection Greencombe.
Culminating nostalgic depictions of Strawberries and Tulips, reworkings of the majestic Mughal flower designs, playing with visions of stripes left behind a plough, and little seeds denoting hope and new beginnings.
Bringing to life the wonder of Primroses, Wild Carrot and Dianthus flowers and importantly highlighting the beauty of nature and the mighty great outdoors and recognising that it is a wonder to behold and to protect. Molly has so much reverence for the power and beauty of nature and is thrilled to celebrate it in this new collection.
She has chosen a palette to incorporate some of the joyful bold colours that she so adores to work with along with some of the more earthy tones found in the India desert and English countryside. This allows a range of options for those looking for something sophisticated with a touch of joyful charm.
