Molly Mahon is a textile designer based in East Sussex, specialising in the art of block printing. This February, Molly will launch The Greencombe Collection, a hand block printed collection of cottons and linens, designed in Sussex and hand blocked in Rajasthan.
Being outside has always been a place of great happiness for Molly; it is where she feels most at peace. Whether this is in her garden, the hills of Scotland, the incredible flower fields of India or the wild hedgerows of the British countryside, it’s the joy of the colours and the beauty of nature’s offerings that most inspire her. For these reasons, Molly is delighted to be celebrating this natural beauty in her new collection, Greencombe.

The collection features nostalgic depictions of Strawberries and Tulips, reworkings of the majestic Mughal flower designs, playful visions of stripes left behind a plough, and little seeds denoting hope and new beginnings. In bringing to life the wonder of Primroses, Wild Carrot and Dianthus flowers, Molly hopes to highlight the beauty of nature and share her recognition of the great outdoors, as a wonder to behold and protect. With this in mind, the designer chose The Greencombe Collection’s palette to incorporate both earthy tones from the Indian desert and English countryside and some of the joyful, bold colours that she always so adores.
Molly’s initial drawings were transported from her studio in East Sussex out to Rajasthan last year. They are now being meticulously hand block printed on a delicious range of linen and cotton cloths by highly skilled craftsmen, ahead of the collection’s launch next month.
