The Americas - Andrew Wang

Dr. Andrew Wang is the founder and Creative Director of Distant Echo, a design studio based in the state of New Jersey in the US which features sustainable, contemporary handmade textiles and other applied arts to preserve and revitalize traditional arts and crafts across the world.

Since 2016, Andrew has served as a volunteer President for World Craft Council North America, an international non-governmental organisation to promote fellowship, foster economic development through income generating craft related activities, and organise exchange programs, workshops, conferences, seminars, and exhibitions.

Andrew has mentored and supported many outstanding art/craft artists from different ethnic minority groups in Asia during the past 15 years, helping them present their art works at major international art exhibitions and markets. In addition, Andrew has served as a volunteer adviser to a number of museums, art institutions, and artist communities in both Asia and in the US, including the Santa Fe Folk Art Alliance for international art and culture exchange activities.
