Ashna Patel, Events Lead

Grounded in heritage textile systems, I am deeply interested in how they can be revitalised through thoughtful design, storytelling, and collaboration. Over the years, I’ve worked closely with artisans and organisations across India and Europe—supporting and learning from decentralised natural fibre economies, bridging cultural heritage with contemporary practice, and honouring textiles as tools for both cultural and ecological resilience.

At Selvedge, I bring this perspective to my role as Events Lead, curating a programme of in-person and digital gatherings that celebrate cloth and community across borders. From intimate workshops to vibrant fairs, we hope to facilitate experiences that spotlight the makers, stories, and traditions behind the cloth.
