Woven in Bhutan using the traditional Hor weaving style, this throw is created with a supplementary warp technique that lends subtle pattern and texture to the cloth. The Dorji (Vajra) motif is incorporated sparingly within the design, introducing a quiet symbolic element rooted in Bhutanese textile heritage.
Woven in two separate panels and hand-stitched together, the throw follows a traditional construction method shaped by the width limitations of the backstrap loom. Soft ash-grey tones derived from dogwood form the dominant palette, complemented by natural cream shades and gentle accents from symplocos, marigold, artemisia, onion skins and madder. Finished with hand-twisted fringes, the piece offers a calm and understated interpretation of the classic Hor pattern.
Each throw is made entirely by hand. Variations in weave, colour and finish are an inherent part of the process and reflect the individuality of the artisan, making every piece unique.
