Kerry Stokes - Chalk Wovens
Chalk Wovens is a Brighton-based studio creating contemporary woven products including throws, cushions, lampshades, and hotties — all designed and made in the UK.
Founded by Kerry Stokes and Richard Bush, the studio combines decades of experience in textile design and interiors. Kerry, a woven textiles designer, has enjoyed a diverse international career, creating fabrics for clients from Japan to New York and across Europe. Her portfolio spans men’s shirtings, airline textiles, upholstery, and wall coverings, reflecting a deep understanding of both craft and industry. Alongside her design practice, Kerry has shared her expertise as a visiting tutor at Central Saint Martins and the University of Brighton.
Richard, who studied ceramics at Farnham, brings a complementary background in interiors and textile representation, having owned an interiors business and represented weave designers internationally. Together, the pair established Chalk to merge their creative and commercial sensibilities, producing refined, timeless designs rooted in craftsmanship and British making.
Today, Chalk Wovens continues to celebrate the beauty of woven design through thoughtful, enduring textiles for the home.
