Watch Nicola Cliffe of Madder Cutch & Co Make a Fabric Bucket
Nicola Cliffe, founder of Madder Cutch & Co, has filmed a free tutorial for Selvedge readers. Using scraps or your own printed fabric, the easy to follow video (see below) will take you through creating a simple fabric bucket which can be used as a plant pot cover or storage bucket. Materials required are basic sewing tools and two pieces of material, one decorative and one lining piece, large enough to go around the pot you want to decorate – the circumference of the pot plus 4cm. Nicola uses a sewing machine, but you could hand sew if you need to, creating a slower and more rustic project.

Skill learning
Teaching my Grand-daughter to sew. She has been made redundant and is quite stressed trying to find employment at this time. Learning to sew these delightful fabric buckets she says is very calming and is nowmaking gifts for Christmas presents.
Thank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely comment. Glad to hear you as well as your granddaughter have found use for these projects. Best wishes from the Selvedge team, and best of luck to your granddaughter as well.
