How to stitch King Harold's coronation
The Latin text in this scene states that this is King Harold, but it doesn’t say that it’s his coronation. It appears to be an important event, though, so perhaps it is the big day. King Harold is sitting on a tall throne, towering over the men standing around him. He’s holding a sceptre and an orb in a very regal manner, while Archbishop Stigand throws his hands out with a wry smile. I wonder what that’s all about, or if it’s only a slip of the thread.
