India, Eka, Handcrafted Contemporary Clothing
Founded in 2011 by designer Rina Singh, Ekà is a contemporary Indian label built on the belief that true luxury is found in craftsmanship, simplicity, and time. Meaning "one" in Sanskrit, the name reflects a holistic approach to design, bringing together India's diverse textile traditions through garments that feel both deeply rooted and quietly modern. Inspired by the poetry of everyday life, Ekà creates fluid silhouettes designed to be lived in, treasured, and passed on.
At the heart of the studio is a commitment to slow fashion. Handwoven fabrics, natural fibres, and time-honoured techniques are brought together with restraint and sensitivity, allowing the beauty of the material to take centre stage. Hand block printing, delicate embroidery, selvedge detailing, and block-printed bindings lend each piece its understated character, while archival textiles are thoughtfully repurposed to extend their story.
- Ekà's philosophy embraces mindful creation over excess, celebrating clothing that transcends seasons and trends. Every garment reflects a dialogue between artisan and designer, tradition and innovation, where sustainability is woven naturally into the making process rather than added as an afterthought.
Rooted in authenticity and longevity, Ekà offers a quiet vision of contemporary dressing — one where elegance is measured not by novelty, but by the enduring beauty of clothes crafted with care.
