Handwoven by artisans in Bengal, this stole is created using the traditional jamdani technique, where each motif is added by hand on a hand-picked warp. The process requires precision and patience, resulting in a textile that carries the maker’s touch in every thread.
Made from a thoughtful blend of fine mill-spun cotton and handspun cotton, the piece combines lightness and texture. The motifs are woven in gicha—a handspun silk—alongside cotton, creating subtle contrasts in tone and sheen. The stole is hand-dyed in natural indigo, the depth of its blue shaped by the rhythm of repeated dips in the dye vat.
Designed in the studio of Karomi Crafts & Textile and brought to life on traditional looms, the pattern explores simple geometric forms—dots, triangles, and squares—interpreted in quiet variation across the surface.
Small variations in tone and weave may occur and are an inherent part of its making.
