India, Muuyee, Busy Safed Panchhis Cushion Cover

The Busy Safed Panchhis cushion cover captures the energy of birds moving together across an open sky. Drawn from spontaneous childhood sketches, the design reflects fleeting moments of play, observation and imagination, translated into a rhythmic composition of flying forms.

Artisans bring the drawing to life through a combination of embroidery and appliqué, layering colour and texture onto handloom cotton. Quilted in two layers, the cover has a soft structure while retaining the spontaneity of the original artwork.

Handcrafted from start to finish, each cushion cover carries small differences in stitch, shade and placement — a natural outcome of the handmade process.

This design was developed in collaboration with Selvedge and is available exclusively on our website. All colours are derived from natural dyes. The motifs are hand-embroidered on both sides of the cushion, with fabric-covered button closures.
