Jeanette Farrier
For nearly twenty years, Jeanette Farrier has collaborated with a small group of artisans in a village near Kolkata, West Bengal, creating kantha textiles stitched from vintage cotton saris.
Each piece is made entirely by hand — layers of reclaimed fabric reimagined into throws, blankets, and bedcovers. Every item is unique, and nothing is wasted.
What began as a single visit to India has grown into a lasting partnership built on respect and shared purpose. The same families who joined Jeanette at the beginning continue to stitch for her today. She established a health fund to support the women and their families with medical expenses.
Her collection includes vintage kantha throws, baby blankets, cushion covers, and bedcovers — all one of a kind — alongside a line of new-cloth queen bedspreads inspired by her favourite designs from India, screen printed under the Jeanette Farrier Home label.
A notable collaboration with John Derian produced a king-size bedcover blending Jeanette’s Indian motifs with John’s designs from his 18th-century French collection.
Cherished by collectors and interior designers worldwide, Jeanette’s work transcends trends — celebrating texture, warmth, and the quiet endurance of the handmade.
