The Tiraz Centre — Widad Kawar Home for Arab Dress — celebrates the rich heritage of Palestinian, Jordanian and broader Arab traditional dress, housing one of the world’s most significant archives of embroidered costumes and textiles from the 19th and 20th centuries. Its collection of over 2,000 garments and weavings reveals how tribal, regional and cultural identities are expressed through cloth and needlework, while exhibitions, research and educational programmes invite visitors to explore techniques, narratives and craftsmanship that connect past tradition with living cultural practice. Tiraz also supports workshops and community initiatives aimed at reviving traditional embroidery and textile skills.
