Digital Textiles, Creating a Repeat in Photoshop with Jenn Butterworth, as part of City Lit Art School's Textile weekender for London Textile Month.
This afternoon workshop is an introduction to digital textile design using Adobe Photoshop. participants will work with pre-prepared motif elements to explore repeat structures and create their own print collection. The workshop will focus on hands-on encouraging creative play with digital tools to produce professional-looking outcomes. If you have been curious about digital textiles, this workshop provides an afternoon that touches on the possibilities this software can bring to your textile work.
You will be taught through practical demonstrations both to the group and to individuals. Group discussions and feedback are encouraged. Step-by-step guidance and templates will be provided to support you on this workshop. We hope that by the end of the workshop, you will feel confident to use the basic tools of photoshop, playing around with pattern making, layering and layouts for use to develop your digital textile design work.
This is an all-levels workshop. Some basic familiarity with Photoshop is helpful but not essential. It is more beneficial for you to be confident using a computer generally, to make the most of this workshop.
You will be able to save your work to a USB if you bring one or, you can email your work back to yourself to use later.
