In this workshop, You will be introduced to polychromatic printing; a direct and hand-painted method of screen-printing using dyes.
You will learn to create your own one-off prints with an opportunity to experiment with resists, simple paper stencils and creating colour combinations with procion dyes.
The course is taught through practical demonstrations, with a selection of hand-outs provided that explain the processes that will be covered in the workshop.
By the end of this workshop, you should be able to work confidently and safely with procion dyes to experiment with colour, resists and layering to paint designs. You will then produce a Polychromatic print onto paper or fabric for future use in your textile work.
It is recommended you wear old clothes or, bring an apron for this course. A small folio sleeve or envelope would be useful to store your samples in to take away at the end of the workshop.
