Workshop, Watercolour to Print with Liege Lopes Sales - Textile Weekender at City Lit Art School, as part of City Lit Art School's Textile weekender for London Textile Month.
In this workshop, you will spend time working in watercolours, to complete a small painting. You will then scan your painting digitally, to work on using basic tools in Adobe Photoshop, to create a print design for textiles. It is an opportunity to explore the working combinations of analogue and digital processes that can enhance visual language.
A basic working knowledge of Photoshop is useful but not required. This is an all-levels workshop. Please bring a USB stick to save your work or email it to yourself at the end of the session.
Step-by-step guidance will be provided to support beginners through group demonstrations and individual support through the workshop.
By the end of this course, you should be able to understand how you can use watercolours to create a small painting then work with Adobe Photoshop basic skills to digitise your painting into a textile design for future development.
Materials and access to computers will be provided. Please bring a USB stick to save your work or you can email it to yourself at the end of the workshop.
