Join us at the Museum of the Home for the Great DOLLY Clothes Swap, a practical and community-focused event that brings sustainability into everyday wardrobes. It’s an opportunity to move away from fast fashion and engage in a more considered approach to clothing.
The concept is simple: bring what you can, take what you need. Browse a curated selection of pre-worn garments, pick up tips on basic alterations, and connect with others interested in extending the life of clothes. The swap offers a quiet reminder that value isn’t always tied to price.
Diana Uprichard, founder of DOLLY Clothing. A designer, seamstress and teacher, Uprichard has spent years developing a thoughtful practice through her studio in Lewes, where she runs sewing workshops, develops mending kits and supports others in learning the skills needed to repair and make their own clothes.
The flat fee supports the work behind the event and reflects a belief in the non-monetary value of clothing. It invites participants to reconsider how clothes are made, where they come from and the environmental cost of throwaway fashion.
Bringing clothes to swap isn’t necessary, but it’s encouraged. Everyone is welcome, and there is always something worth finding.
