Join us for a day of thoughtful exchange and community connection at the Museum of the Home, where DOLLY Clothing presents a curated clothes swap as part of Textile Month.
This is a celebration of slowness, sustainability, and the quiet joy of preloved clothing. Whether you bring garments to swap or simply come to browse, the day is designed to invite reflection on how we wear, repair, and share.
Schedule:
-
11.30am–1pm – Clothes Drop-Off
Bring your clean, gently-worn garments. The DOLLY team will spruce them up and prepare them for the rails. -
1–2pm – Lunch Break
Picnic on the lawns or explore the museum’s collection. Meet fellow swappers and share stories. -
2–4pm – The Swap
Browse a curated array of pre-loved clothing and discover something new-to-you.
Founded by Diana Uprichard, DOLLY is rooted in the belief that clothes deserve care. From her Lewes studio, Diana teaches sewing and mending, encouraging a deeper relationship with what we wear.
A modest flat fee supports the work behind the event and reflects a belief in the true value of clothing—its history, its makers, and its continued life.
Bringing clothes to swap isn’t necessary, but it’s encouraged. Everyone is welcome. Leave with something new-to-you, and perhaps a renewed sense of what clothing can mean.
