Event Description

Friday 18 September, 6.30 - 8 p.m.
Saturday 19 September, 3 - 4.30 p.m
Sunday 20 September, 4 - 5.30 p.m.

Discover how textiles enrich everyday life through an intimate experience designed for curious minds, collectors, makers and design enthusiasts.

As part of Selvedge's London Textile Month, this exclusive session invites you to slow down, look closely and experience textiles beyond fashion or interiors.

Join a small group for an engaging conversation with expert curators and textile specialists, gaining fresh insights into the stories, craftsmanship and cultural significance woven into every fabric.

Through touch, observation and discussion, discover how textiles connect us to heritage, identity, sustainability and the people who make them, including Mick Lindberg’s early stitched portraits, created with a Tanzanian women’s cooperative using African wax, linen, printing and stitching.

Rather than a formal lecture, this relaxed, interactive gathering encourages questions, conversation and a deeper appreciation of beautifully crafted cloth.

Whether you’re passionate about sustainability, craftsmanship or simply curious about textiles, you’ll leave inspired to see the fabrics around you differently and make more thoughtful, informed choices about the textiles you bring into your home and everyday life.
