Studio Tour, 10:30am - 12.00pm:
Join Hand & Lock for an exclusive behind-the-scenes experience during London Textile Month. Step inside the historic studio and uncover the exquisite craftsmanship behind couture embroidery, military regalia, and bespoke monogramming.

Immerse yourself in the rich history of Hand & Lock and discover extraordinary past projects created for the British Royal Family and the British Military as well as highlights from collaborations with renowned fashion brands such as Burberry, Christian Dior, and Louis Vuitton. Tour the specialist departments - Hand Embroidery, Digital Embroidery and Irish Machine Embroidery, and meet the skilled embroiderers keeping these time-honoured techniques alive.

Celestial Moon Taster Workshop, 2pm - 5pm:

Goldwork embroidery is a luxurious craft that uses metal threads to create intricate, light-reflecting designs. Historically associated with ceremonial and military attire, this technique has evolved to feature prominently in couture fashion and interior design.

In this three-hour workshop, you’ll be introduced to the timeless art of goldwork through the creation of a Celestial Moon design. Guided by Hand & Lock’s expert tutors, you’ll learn fundamental techniques including applying Pear Purl, Chipping and attaching Pearl Beads.

All materials provided, and all skill levels are welcome.

All bookings are non-refundable. However, if you let us know that you are unable to attend an event you have booked at least two weeks before the event, we will open up your place. If we find another participant, you will be offered a credit note.
