Joss Graham Gallery, 10 Eccleston St, London SW1W 9LT

Join renowned textile specialist Joss Graham and indigo expert Jenny Balfour-Paul for an intimate evening exploring the rich cultural history of indigo dyeing across the globe. From 5pm onwards, guests are invited to enjoy a private view of the gallery’s indigo collection, followed by a talk and Q&A with Joss and Jenny at 6pm, where Joss and Jenny will share stories from their extensive travels, research, and practice.

Perfect for textile enthusiasts, artists, and historians alike, the evening will offer a rare chance to hear directly from two authorities on global textile traditions in a warm and personal setting.

Joss Graham Gallery opened its doors in Eccleston Street in 1980, and has a well-deserved reputation for rare and beautiful textiles from across the globe. Part old-fashioned antiques shop and part handmade textile specialists, Joss Graham Gallery contains two floors of expertly curated fabrics, wall hangings, kilims, cushions and costume, and contemporary collections of clothing from established and emerging designers in India and elsewhere.

Jenny Balfour-Paul, renowned authority on indigo, has been publishing, lecturing, exhibiting and broadcasting on indigo and related subjects for over twenty years. In 2007, she was the consultant curator for the Whitworth Art Gallery's major touring exhibition 'Indigo: A Blue to Dye for'. An Honorary Research Fellow at the University of Exeter and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, she continues to travel extensively in pursuit of her research projects and has considerable practical experience with indigo plants and dyestuff.
