Really fascinating and informative talk from Jenny, what an amazing speaker and what a fascinating life she has led.
The textiles on show and reception afterwards with Joss were also great and really added to the event.
Fabulous evening. Thank you for organising
I had heard Jenny Balfour Paul recently, as part of Justine Aldersley Williams' Growing Slow Textiles online course, and had read her book, Deeper than Indigo.
But what I particularly enjoyed at your event was the two-handed presentation alongside her longtime friend Joss Graham, and benefiting from seeing and touching the many exquisitely beautiful textiles they have collected on their journey into indigo.
Jenny's depth of knowledge and experience is unparalleled and the display in Joss's gallery was quite simply breathtaking.
Members of the audience were equally interesting...
It was a lovely talk and I wish it had gone on for longer.
A lovely and interesting evening. Enjoyed the gathering in Joss Grahams and seeing wonderful examples of indigo dying.
Jenny Balfour Paul has a lot of knowledge but does ramble sometimes.
A warm and enthusiastic group of people with a shared love of indigo gathered to hear Jenny Balfour Pauls’s story of her lifelong involvement with the dye and the artisans around the world who work with it. I was then initiated into Joss Graham’s shop - a treasure trove of textile wonders. Altogether a fabulous evening and well worth the effort of travelling during a tube strike!
