Qing Fibre Ltd. was founded in 2016 by Layla Yang as an exploration of colour, texture and the technical possibilities of hand-dyed fibre. Working with high-grade natural materials including superfine merino, cashmere and silk, the studio has become known for its richly saturated palettes and nuanced variegated tones.
Each fibre is ethically sourced, with an emphasis on traceability, animal welfare and sustainable farming practices, while every dye formula is carefully developed to respond to the individual character of each yarn base. Alongside its distinctive yarns, Qing Fibre also creates knitwear patterns that celebrate the unique qualities of hand-dyed fibre, offering thoughtful designs for makers who value both craftsmanship and innovation.

Alongside her work with the studio, Telgmaa’s own practice spans textile art, painting, sound and performance, reflecting a deep engagement with materiality, craft and community-led making. She also helps shape Qing Fibre’s creative community projects, including seasonal craft competitions and studio initiatives.
