This September, join one of the City of London’s most iconic annual events as the Worshipful Company of Woolmen hosts the 2025 Sheep Drive & Livery Fair, with a special guest leading the flock across Southwark Bridge. 2025 Special guest is still to be announced - 2024 was Damian Lewis.
A unique heritage celebration dating back centuries, the Sheep Drive allows over 1,000 Freemen of the City to exercise their historic right to herd sheep across the Thames—once the heart of Britain’s wool trade. It’s a powerful moment that connects countryside traditions with urban life.
The accompanying Livery & Wool Fair is open to all and includes live sheep shearing, rare breeds from Spitalfields City Farm, woollen craft stalls, street food, and demonstrations from some of the UK’s most skilled artisans and wool innovators.
Expect a full day of heritage, textiles, and community joy — all in support of the Woolmen’s Charity, The Innovation in Wool Awards, and The Lord Mayor’s Appeal.
