The Centro de Textiles del Mundo Maya celebrates the living textile traditions of the Maya peoples of southern Mexico and neighbouring regions, presenting richly woven garments, natural dyes, back-strap loom techniques and ceremonial cloth within a dynamic museum setting in San Cristóbal de las Casas. Through its collections, conservation lab, educational programmes and temporary exhibitions, the centre highlights both historical continuity and the vibrant, contemporary practice of weaving as a means of cultural expression and identity.
