Nicola Kurtz Studio is a space where photography, textiles, and handcraft come
together. Rooted in curiosity and creativity, Nicola Kurtz moves fluidly between different forms of making. Kurtz began as a photographer, capturing light, detail, and emotion through the lens. Over time, that moved to textiles, where she now create scarves and artworks using natural dyes on silk and cashmere fabrics. Alongside these pieces, Kurtz design and handcraft cards, each one a small expression of colour and form.
Kurtz's studio is a place where all of these practices meet. Photography informs her sense of composition; textile work deepens my connection to material and process; natural dyeing grounds me in the rhythm of craft and nature. Together, they form a multifaceted body of work that is always evolving.
