Online Talk with Inês Queirós of Tuyo Foundation
Wednesday 12 August 2026, 5 - 6pm BST (British Summer Time)
Inês Queirós is a Portuguese textile artist, researcher, and the founder of TuYo Foundation, a nonprofit founded in 2021 in Amsterdam by a collective of artists and artisans dedicated to preserving, rescuing, and promoting ancestral textile techniques while supporting local communities through socially and environmentally responsible practices. TuYo’s pilot project unfolds in Xochistlahuaca, Guerrero (México), alongside the indigenous Amuzgo community, through a collaboration grounded in cultural respect, mutual learning, and sustainable development. Queirós' work focuses on preserving endangered textile cultures and exploring textiles as vessels for storytelling, social connection, and women’s empowerment. Through long-term collaborations, natural dyeing research, and ancestral weaving practices, she supports communities in revitalising traditional techniques while opening space for contemporary applications. In this workshop, Inês acts as facilitator and cultural mediator, guiding the learning process and supporting participants’ technical and creative exploration.
Queirós will also be running an online workshop, Randa Embroidery on Saturday 28 & Sunday 29 November 2026, 2 - 5pm GMT. To book your place, visit our website HERE.
