Rebecca M. The constant thread running through all that I do with Chocflock is a love and respect for Castlemilk Moorit sheep and the beautiful textiles created from their sustainable fibre.
Chocflock’s weaving, knitting and needlepoint creations are worked in pure wool. Blending the mocha fleece of my own flock of Castlemilk Moorit sheep with other native breeds I design and create textiles, solely and in collaboration with other artisans, that celebrate and champion the fleece of this rare local breed.
My work is about conservation - conservation of a rare native breed, a simpler way of life and the uniqueness of creativity. It’s also about demonstrating what we can achieve when we look beyond a colour palette that starts with white.
