Sigrid Verschraeghen
Sigrid Verschraeghen is a Belgian clothes designer and maker who studied in Antwerpen at the Academy of Fine Arts and at CTL in Gent. The designer worked for a number of renowned Belgian fashion designers before setting out on her own, and has been living and working in the UK for over 25 years.
Verschraeghen makes one-off handmade pieces in natural materials that are both timeless and contemporary. The finishing touches are hand stitched with meticulous attention to detail - as intricate on the inside as they are minimalist on the outside. She often uses sustainable, end of roll and vintage materials.
With a passion for materials and shapes, she always make pieces with forever in mind. Whether crafting one-off designs or bespoke commissions, the designer's greatest pleasure is to skilfully make clothes that create an ongoing conversation with the wearer.
