ONLINE WORKSHOP
Hosted on Zoom by Pauline Greuell
Saturday 11 & 18 October 2025, 2-5pm BST (British Summer Time)
Discover the beauty of nature through layered stencil printing in this hands-on workshop with Dutch fabric designer and printmaker Pauline Greuell. Based in the Netherlands, Pauline has developed a unique stencil technique using brushes to create rich textures and layered depth in her prints. Her work is deeply inspired by local plants and flowers, and her accessible approach makes it easy to recreate beautiful designs at home—no expensive equipment required.
In this online workshop, Pauline guides you through the process of creating floral and botanical prints using her signature layered stencil method. The technique emphasises simplification and stylisation, giving the resulting prints a bold, distinctive character. Whether you're a complete beginner or an experienced maker looking to explore a new process, this workshop offers something for everyone.
What You’ll Learn:
- How to use stencil brushes to create varied textures
- Techniques for layering stencils to build intricate designs
- Tips for stylising floral and botanical subjects into bold, graphic prints
- How to design and cut your own layered stencils based on personal inspiration
Workshop Outline:
Workshop 1:
Pauline introduces the foundations of her stencil printing technique, including brushwork for texture and layering strategies. You'll experiment with simple motifs and create spontaneous patterns to get comfortable with the process.
Workshop 2:
Bring your own botanical inspiration—flowers, leaves, or plants. Pauline will demonstrate how to transform a sketch into a multi-layered stencil. You’ll then design, cut, and print your own botanical motif using the techniques learned.
Join us for a creative journey into printmaking that celebrates nature, texture, and personal expression—no prior experience needed.
