Sweden, Göteborg, Göteborgs Remfabrik
The Göteborgs Remfabrik (Remfabriken Textile Heritage Centre) preserves a remarkable intact early‐20th‑century textile mill, offering a living industrial museum where original looms, transmissions and historic machines demonstrate Sweden’s textile‑manufacturing heritage. Founded in 1891 to produce industrial belting and closed in 1977, the mill remains as it was at the end of production, with functioning equipment and skilled volunteers maintaining the craft and machinery for visitors to experience. Guided tours and hands‑on demonstrations bring the rhythm of weaving, braiding and lace‑making to life, while a museum shop sells locally made ribbons, trims and woven items.
